Localizat in desertul Kara-Kum, pe teritorul statului Turkmenistan (fosta Uniune Sovietica), craterul de langa Derweze a facut inconjurul lumii, devenind cunoscut ca 'poarta spre iad'.

Totul a plecat de la faptul ca in interiorul 'gaurii' adanci de 25 de metri si cu un diametru de 70 metri se petrece un fenomen extrem de ciudat, acesta ARZAND incontinuu de mai bine de 40 de ani.
